Resist, Part 2

Immobilized
Every sound
Roots me more deeply
In place
Drawers opening, closing
Plates lightly touching, carefully stacked
Your foot fall
Every beat
Matching the quickening pace
Of my heart
Skin magnetized
Longing to bridge the distance
Between your figure and my own
Atoms pinging
Ready to move
Breath shortens
Keep your cool
Let nothing rise
To the surface
What you feel is wrong
Keep it at bay
Let it pass
Let it go
Exact it on something
Else
Something other
Than what you would dare to
Stay still, don’t move
