When She Shouts

A gentle quaking
Shivers from the flats of my feet
To the crown of my head
My blood flows in synch now
With her cavernous rhythms
Burrowed deep within her chest
Dormant but always ready
She may burst today
Or maybe ten thousand years from now
No matter when she shouts
She’ll make sure she’s heard

I write poetry, personal narratives and short stories. I'm always open to reaching and connecting with new readers, so leave me a comment or question. Let's start a dialogue! Don't forget to follow me here and on Twitter and Instagram! (@exisflor is my handle for all three sites)
