How I Dream of Aging

I kissed a crystal of snow
let it settle on my lips
licked it clean away
once it melted

I ate a crystal of snow
let it cool my throat
felt its icy finger trailing
peacefully to my stomach

I absorbed a crystal of snow
let it befriend red blood cells
who danced new steps
of Winter mornings

I kissed a crystal of snow
and it changed me

Cooled me down
Made my steps softer
Turned frenzied thoughts
Into silent crunchings
Along white, stilled plains
Of solitude
